The most common hip problems encountered by men are osteoarthritis, polymyalgia rheumatic, trochanteric bursitis and osteonecrosis, medical researchers say. They say that about 20-25 percent of hip fractures occur in men. As of last August of 2010, DePuy Orthopaedics, a subsidiary of pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson, issued a monumental DePuy hip replacement recall of its metal-on-metal devices.
